Vikas Swarup Classics (#B16)

Remember Slumdog Millionaire? The Oscar-winning movie was adapted from a similar title authored by Vikas Swarup, who is currently the High Commissioner of India to Canada. He has since published many more stellar titles, including two well-written ones, which are the Six Suspects and the Accidental Apprentice. In Accidental Apprentice, we witness how a young shop assistant is offered the role of a CEO of a business empire should she pass a series of seven “random” tests. There’s plenty twists and turns in this story that starts from the very beginning until the end. Six Suspects is a great crime and mystery story that has elements of Agatha Christie’s influence in it. It is centered around the murder of a wealthy businessman’s son, with 6 possible suspects that could have pulled the trigger. Could India’s best known investigative journalist, Arun Advani, crack the case before it’s too late?
